Missions and areas of expertise

OPT provides services throughout New Caledonia in three areas of expertise : telecommunications, mail and parcel services, and financial services for individual and business customers.

Key tasks undertaken by OPT-NC include :

  • developing infrastructure (post offices, technical facilities, networks…);
  • ensuring access to digital services (initiatives and projects implementation to address the needs of local communities);
  • providing core services throughout the Territory (postal, telecommunications and banking services);
  • implementing appropriate pricing policies.

 

Our areas of expertise

Telecom services

Key tasks undertaken by the Telecom Division include :

  • Marketing, invoicing and recovering the proceeds and Internet, landline and mobile phone services;
  • Creating and marketing product offerings and new services;
  • Fulfilling public service duties through public terminals management;
  • Ensuring publication of the telephone directory;
  • Launching promotional campaigns.

Our Telecom services generated a turnover of CFP 21.986 billion in 2015 (88% of OPT’s total turnover).

Mail and philately services

Key tasks undertaken by the Mail and Parcels Division include :

  • Ensuring mail and parcels delivery;
  • Creating and marketing product offerings and new services;
  • Launching promotional campaigns;
  • Implementing a yearly philatelic programme.

Our Mail and Philately services generated a turnover of CFP 2.304 billion in 2015 (9% of OPT’s total turnover).

Financial services

Key tasks undertaken by the Banking Services Division include :

  • Managing customer deposits;
  • Issuing means of payment;
  • Managing current accounts, savings accounts and related services;
  • Providing short-term overdraft and savings facilities;
  • Creating and marketing product offerings and new services;
  • Launching promotional campaigns.

Our Financial services generated a turnover of CFP 497 million in 2015 (2% of OPT’s total turnover).
